In this special edition of Building Hope, our CEO, Lisa Woolley, reflects on Visionwest’s response to the Auckland floods and the vital role our team played in supporting communities affected by the disaster.

As many people faced the loss of their homes, belongings, and sense of security, Visionwest mobilised quickly to provide emergency shelter, food, and practical support.

We also share the stories of Warren, who lost everything overnight, and Jacqui, who struggled to find safe accommodation in the aftermath of the floods. Their experiences highlight the challenges faced by many Aucklanders and the importance of timely, compassionate support during times of crisis.

Discover the impact of the flood response, which included 655 calls triaged, 294 emergency food parcels distributed to support 473 adults and 354 children, and more than $114,000 worth of food, bedding, and household essentials provided to those in need.
