That’s why we’re launching Giving Day 2025, a 24-hour opportunity to Turn Hunger into Hope for struggling families across Tāmaki Makaurau.
From 10am Tuesday 29th July to 10am Wednesday 30th July, every dollar you give will be doubled, thanks to generous donors.

Whai Manaaki Kai is Visionwest’s food support service and includes Manaaki Kai, our social supermarket, and Pātaka Kai, our emergency food parcel service.
Last year over $690,000 worth of food was donated to Whai Manaaki Kai by kind businesses and individuals. That meant we could provide over 260 emergency food parcels every week.
If you or someone you know in West Auckland needs food support, our Pātaka Kai is open at 97 Glendale Road on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between noon and 2pm. You can book for Manaaki Kai, Social Supermarket, through the Whānau Centre.

As a superannuitant in rented accommodation, Albert finds things tough at times but support from Visionwest Whai Manaaki Kai has been a great help freeing up money to go towards essential living items.
“Visionwest helped me so much when I needed it. Manaaki Kai, the social supermarket for example. If I went to the supermarket, even for the basics, it’s going to cost me $120.00. But three times a year, I can do my shopping here for just $34. Other times I can go to the foodbank [Pātaka Kai] for an emergency top-up."
