It’s all over for another year… the fifth and final day of Christmas From The Heart 2024 has come and gone. Over the past five days we’ve seen thousands of gifts wrapped and ready for Christmas morning, even more sausages barbecued at the sausage sizzle, hundreds of coffees prepared, countless haircuts and faces painted but, most importantly almost 1,000 whānau will now have a Christmas Day that is far happier than it would otherwise have been. This Christmas they will have food on their tables for special Christmas Day meals and gifts under the Christmas tree.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped out – to all the businesses and individuals who gave gifts, food and donations to ensure Christmas joy for those in our community who would otherwise have missed out.
A special thanks to today’s corporate volunteer teams from Canon, OPD (Office Products Depot), and The Trusts.
And a special thanks to the Visionwest staff who put so much effort into making Christmas From The Heart 2024 a success – especially Sarah V. and Nathan – you guys are amazing!

What an awesome past five days, busy and tiring but so worthwhile to be able to support families and their children who would otherwise have missed out on the joy of a special dinner and gifts on Christmas Day.
As we often acknowledge at Visionwest, it takes a community to help a community and so we want to give a final thanks to some of the awesome people who have helped out and may have been missed previously.
These are all people or organisations who collected gifts or food and donated it to Christmas From The Heart.
• Toyworld Henderson and their awesome customers who gave so generously.
• Fonterra for bringing in a mountain of toys on their first volunteer day.
• The Wardroom, Small Mercies Café, Rosebank Business Association and Fruitvale, Kaurilands, and Woodlands Park Schools who so generously collected gifts and food (and the school that wished to remain anonymous but brought in several cartons full of food).
• The West Auckland Māori Thought Leadership Collective.
• Arrol who collected gifts at The Retro Event NZ, and Paul who organised the Show ‘n Shine Toy Run and then, yesterday, dropped off even more gifts.
Thanks to every one of these awesome people and everyone else who did so much to put smiles on kids’ faces this Christmas.

As the final day of Christmas From The Heart 2024 kicks off, we want to give a shout out to those we haven’t had a chance to say thank you to yet.
It truly takes a community to make something like Christmas From The Heart run smoothly. Thanks to Rodney Fisher who has provided whānau with free haircuts throughout the past five days, Liz Wells (Paint Me Lizzie) for her awesome facepainting, Monique for taking care of the children’s crafts, Kirit Makan at NML Produce, and the team from Glen Eden Baptist Church that has looked after the café all week, including Christine our fabulous barista..
We couldn’t do it without you. Thanks for helping us put smiles on the faces of so many children and grown-ups.

A day of sunshine and smiles for Day 4 of Christmas From The Heart 2024.
It was so awesome to once again see the joy on the faces of people who would otherwise have missed out on the blessing of special food and children’s gifts on Christmas Day.
One young mum said, “I’m so happy. My babies will have kai and a present to open on Christmas morning.”
Another whānau said, “Coming here today is the best day. The people are so helpful and it’s such a great help to me and my family this Christmas after a tough year financially.”
A big thanks to all our volunteers including today’s corporate helpers: 2degrees Office Products Depot NZ WestNet Tax Accounting Fonterra Xero - you were all awesome!
