A joint community venture between Glen Eden Baptist Church and Visionwest, Te Kapu provides a free lunch to around 100 members of the community every week. In June 2024, Te Kapu celebrated two years – that’s a lot of lunches and a lot of opportunities for making new friends.
The first Te Kapu lunch for 2025 is at midday on Wednesday 17 February, at Glen Eden Baptist Church, 97 Glendale Road, Glen Eden. Anyone is welcome to come along – it’s free and you get to meet some great people.

Terangiataahua’s first visit to Visionwest was for a kai parcel, but she left with a booked meeting with a Whānau Centre Support Navigator for further wraparound support and to begin a journey that would change her life forever.
“When I came to Visionwest, I was at my lowest of my lowest. I was going to give up on my kids, but Visionwest changed my life around. Sure, I still have a lot of work to do, but I’m a totally different person today than I ever have been. I have back everything that everybody had taken from me; my pride, my self-worth, my sense of being a mum. Amazing to think that, not long ago, I was at the point of giving up."
