Because of an increasing demand for support services and the provision of new help for whānau who are struggling, Visionwest has outgrown its Glendale Rd site.
Thankfully, the perfect opportunity for coping with this growth presented itself when the vacant Salvation Army church building on Glengarry Road in Glen Eden came up for sale.
Visionwest was able to purchase the building and, at an informal key-handover gathering, the Salvation Army Divisional Leader, Ian Gainsford spoke about how pleased he was that the building would transfer into the hands of a group who shared the same values. As he said:
“Lives have been changed in this building, and lives will continue to be changed because of Visionwest’s work here.”
In response Lisa Woolley, Visionwest’s CEO, spoke of the need to honour all who had gone before, as she said:
“This building was located here to be a place used by the community to serve the community. It’s great that it can continue to be used in that way – a blessing to the community.”
The new building will be used as offices for some of the Visionwest team with client-facing services still operating out of our Glendale Road site.
