Mohan talks about some great outcomes at the Counselling Centre, including a married couple who originally came to VisionWest as separated partners from a marriage which had broken down after years of strife. Eventually they had made enough progress as two individuals to come to accept couples counselling.
“All up it was about a two year process but they made big strides though counselling in renewing their relationship. It was amazing to see.
“They came to a point where they decided to go away together as a family with their two children and kind of marked the occasion as the fresh start they needed to rebuild themselves as a unit
“ A key part of the process was giving them the skills to manage conflict and how to deal with past traumas in their individual lives.
“They also learned how to share the parenting duties more effectively and they rediscovered intimacy on their relationship which was a real key going forward.
They wrote to thank VisionWest:
We’re a married couple who have had many challenges throughout the years, many times we’ve tried counselling only to end up worse than when we started.
Not until we came to see Mohan at VisionWest have we finally been able to work through our problems professionally and successfully. Mohan has insight and gets right to the root of the problem.
Our marriage is now better than ever and we have personally grown and restored dramatically since we have started getting counselling at VisionWest. We would recommend Mohan to anyone. He gives us great tools to take home and make our marriage deeper, more fun, and this enables us to tackle the difficult issues in a loving way. Our marriage is better than it has been in 20 years.
Mohan says there’s a cost attached to the counselling but the couple were able to get funding from Government agencies for this.
“They also accessed our budgeting service and got help from the food bank on a couple of occasions when they were going through some difficult financial times.”
