Financial Mentoring
We recognise that everyone has a different understanding of how personal finance works and have different money needs and goals.
That’s why we begin with where you are at and journey alongside you, guiding you as you work towards meeting your financial goals.
For some whānau this means providing advocacy and tools to overcome financial difficulties. For others, it means creating a plan to cope with changes in financial circumstances. Some just want to budget better and learn new positive initiatives with managing money, while others need to be guided towards other support services offered by Visionwest.
As we work together, we can:
Suggest ways to improve your financial situation.
Work on a debt repayment plan.
Assess whether you are eligible for WINZ or other government help.
Advocate on your behalf with government departments and creditors.
Talk to your creditors about repayment arrangements.
Help you apply for hardship payments.
Refer you to other support services, both within Visionwest and in the wider community.
