Visionwest’s Youth Guarantee Programme is open to young people between 16 and 19-years old and provides quality academic training.
The programme uses Unit Standards to enable NCEA achievement and foundation level skills that will assist young people in pursuing further studies and achieving career goals.
Training that works for you
Our speciality is hospitality and retail training in an inviting environment where students find belonging and friendship.
Study courses provided are:
New Zealand Certificate in Hospitality – Level 2.
New Zealand Certificate in Retail – Level 2.
NCEA Level 2 – Vocational Pathway in Hospitality and Retail Sector.

As a Youth Guarantee student at Visionwest, you will learn in a friendly, small classroom setting, with skilled tutors dedicated to your success,offering extra student support when required.
Alongside our practical training courses, we also focus on personal development, guiding participants towards individual transformation in areas of confidence and self-esteem.

Youth Guarantee Courses
New Zealand Certificate in Hospitality (Level 2)
This course consists of 40 credits towards NCEA and covers practical training in:

- Basic cookery methods
- Food safety methods
- Applying safe workplace practices
- Teamwork and communication
New Zealand Certificate in Retail (Level 2)
This course consists of 40 credits towards NCEA and covers practical training in:
- Customer services and sales
- Consumer law
- Theft and fraud
- Workplace health and safety
- Teamwork and communication
NCEA Level 2 – Vocational Pathway in Hospitality and Retail Sector
This course covers practical training in:
- Barista knowledge and training
- Food costing in a commercial hospitality environment
- Workplace health and safety
- Interview and CV preparation
- Customer service skills and professionalism
